Tradescantia 'Velvet Moon' Basic Care: Easy

Watering: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain away. Avoid overwatering, as the succulent-like leaves store moisture.

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. A few hours of gentle morning sun are beneficial, but protect the fuzzy foliage from harsh afternoon sunlight.

Soil/Drainage: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent potting mix, or a well-draining houseplant mix amended with perlite. Good drainage is essential.

Temperature/Humidity: Prefers temperatures between 60–80°F with average household humidity. It tolerates lower humidity well thanks to its fuzzy, moisture-retaining leaves. Protect from temperatures below 50°F.
