Silver Sword Philodendron Basic Care: Easy to Medium

Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly, then let excess moisture drain away. Avoid keeping the roots constantly wet.

Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Bright, filtered light encourages vigorous growth and showcases the foliage's beautiful silvery sheen. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sunlight.

Soil/Drainage: Use a chunky, well-draining tropical or aroid mix. A combination containing potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite provides excellent drainage and airflow around the roots.

Temperature/Humidity: Prefers temperatures between 65–85°F with moderate to high humidity. It can adapt to average household humidity but benefits from extra humidity for larger, healthier foliage.

Feeding: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.

Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when the plant becomes rootbound. Always use a container with adequate drainage.

Support: Provide a moss pole, trellis, or similar vertical support as the plant grows. Allowing it to climb encourages larger leaves and helps it develop its characteristic mature foliage.
