Philodendron 'Prince of Orange' Basic Care: Easy to Medium

Watering: Water when the top 2 inches of soil feel dry. Check the plant weekly, but always use the soil rather than a set schedule to determine when it's ready for water. Avoid letting the soil remain soggy.

Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Brighter filtered light helps encourage vibrant orange new growth. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the foliage.

Soil/Drainage: Use a chunky, well-draining tropical or aroid potting mix. Adding orchid bark and perlite helps improve drainage and airflow around the roots.

Temperature/Humidity: Prefers temperatures between 65–85°F with moderate to high humidity. It adapts well to average household humidity but benefits from extra humidity for lush growth.

Feeding: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.

Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when the plant becomes rootbound. Choose a container only slightly larger than the current pot and always provide adequate drainage.
