Philodendron mayoi Basic Care: Easy to Medium

Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess moisture to drain away. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.

Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Brighter filtered light encourages healthy growth and larger foliage. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Soil/Drainage: Use a chunky, well-draining tropical or aroid mix. A blend containing quality potting soil, orchid bark, and perlite provides good drainage and airflow around the roots.

Temperature/Humidity: Prefers temperatures between 65–85°F with moderate to high humidity. It can adapt to average household humidity but appreciates additional humidity as it develops larger foliage.

Feeding: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Reduce feeding during fall and winter.
