Heliotropium arborescens 'Aromagica® Purple'
Aromagica® Purple Heliotrope is a game-changer for heliotrope lovers. Unlike older varieties that fade midseason, this one stays full, lush, and covered in large, fragrant purple blooms all summer long.
The richly scented flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and color is most intense in bright light. With its rugose dark green foliage and deer resistance, Aromagica® Purple is a reliable, low-fuss choice for containers and garden beds—just a little deadheading keeps the blooms coming strong.

Heliotrope Care Tips
- Light: Full sun to partial shade. Full sun produces the most prolific blooms and the deepest color. In hotter climates, a little afternoon shade helps prevent stress without sacrificing too much flower power.
- Water: Water regularly and consistently, keeping soil evenly moist. Heliotrope wilts quickly when it dries out, but it doesn't want to sit in soggy soil either. Container plants dry out fast and will need more frequent attention in summer heat.
- Soil: Prefers rich, fertile, well-draining soil. Amend beds with compost at planting and use a quality potting mix for containers.
- Fertilizer: Feed every 2 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer or bloom-boosting formula to keep growth strong and flowers coming. Consistent feeding makes a noticeable difference.
- Deadheading: Remove spent flower clusters regularly to encourage continuous blooming and keep plants looking tidy. Don't let them go to seed if you want the best performance all season.
- Fragrance: That famous vanilla-cherry scent is strongest in warm sun. Plant near seating areas, entryways, or along pathways where it can really be appreciated up close.
- Pests: Watch for aphids and whitefly, which are particularly fond of Heliotrope. Check regularly and treat early before populations get out of hand.
- Hardiness: Grown as an annual in most climates, perennial in zones 10–11. Plant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed.
Order & Shipping Info:
-Plants ship in a grower's pot, fully rooted.
-We ship every Monday and Tuesday (excluding holidays) to avoid weekend delays.
-Our photos show what you can expect, but each plant is unique and may look slightly different upon arrival.
-Minor damage during shipping is entirely normal and should be expected, especially in extreme summer or winter temperatures. Don’t worry—damaged foliage can be trimmed away and will not affect the plant's root system or overall health.
-Hold off on watering if the soil is still moist, and wait 2-4 weeks before repotting or fertilizing. This patience will help your plant adjust smoothly without going into shock.
