Fernleaf Hinoki Cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Filicoides Compacta’ 

The delicate foliage on this stunning, upright tree looks more like fern fronds than typical Hinoki branches. Each arching, rich green branch tapers to a fine point, instead of the more usual cupped tip. Will develop a handsome, open habit, and will stand out as a focal point in a miniature garden or as a unique bonsai. If desired, judicious pruning encourages a more compact shape. Grow in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade.
