Ficus 'Audrey'
Ficus benghalensis 'Audrey'
Meet the Ficus Audrey, the elegant cousin of the ever-popular fiddle leaf fig—and a lot more forgiving. With its smooth, light-colored trunk and velvety emerald-green leaves accented by pale veins, this beauty brings a refined, calming presence to any space.
In its native India, the Audrey Ficus (Ficus benghalensis) is a true giant—recognized as the national tree, it’s known as the Banyan Tree, Bengal Fig, or Strangler Fig. In the wild, it can spread wider than it grows tall, with long aerial roots that drop from the canopy to form entire forests of trunks. Indoors, though, it adapts gracefully as a houseplant, growing upright and tall without demanding too much fuss.
Ficus Basic Care: Easy/Medium
- Water: Let the soil almost completely dry out between watering. These plants appreciate a consistent watering schedule, as they can be quite dramatic when neglected.
- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light.
- Soil/Drainage: Best in a loose, well-draining tropical mix.
- Temperature/Humidity: Prefers warm conditions and should be kept away from drafty areas. While higher humidity is ideal, it can adapt to normal household humidity levels.
Order & Shipping Info:
-Plants ship in a grower's pot, fully rooted.
-We ship every Monday and Tuesday (excluding holidays) to avoid weekend delays.
-Our photos show what you can expect, but each plant is unique and may look slightly different upon arrival.
-Minor damage during shipping is entirely normal and should be expected, especially in extreme summer or winter temperatures. Don’t worry—damaged foliage can be trimmed away and will not affect the plant's root system or overall health.
-Hold off on watering if the soil is still moist, and wait 2-4 weeks before repotting or fertilizing. This patience will help your plant adjust smoothly without going into shock.
