Dipladenia hybrid 'Sun Parasol® FiredUp Orange'
'Sun Parasol® FiredUp Orange' Dipladenia brings a fresh look to the Sun Parasol® series with brilliant orange flowers, a distinctive flatter pinwheel-shaped bloom, and a naturally upright habit. The glowing flowers stand out beautifully against narrow green foliage, creating a warm, tropical display throughout the growing season.
Compact yet vigorous, 'FiredUp Orange' is an excellent choice for patio containers, combination planters, garden beds, and sunny outdoor spaces. Compared with the more strongly vining growth associated with traditional Mandevilla, Dipladenia varieties tend to maintain a bushier, more upright form, though 'FiredUp Orange' can still benefit from light support as it grows. Give it plenty of warmth and sunshine for a season filled with fiery color.

Please Note: Botanically, the distinction between plants traditionally sold as Dipladenia and Mandevilla has blurred, as Dipladenia is now classified within the Mandevilla genus. However, the names are still commonly used in the nursery trade to describe different growth habits. Mandevilla varieties are typically more vining, while plants marketed as Dipladenia tend to be more compact and shrub-like. Our listings follow the names and descriptions provided by our suppliers.
Sun Parasol® FiredUp Orange Basic Care: Medium
Watering: Water when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry. Container-grown plants may need more frequent watering during hot summer weather. Water thoroughly, but never allow the plant to sit in standing water.
Light: Provide full sun to bright light, ideally around 6 or more hours of sunlight per day for abundant flowering. In extremely hot conditions, some protection from intense afternoon sun can be beneficial.
Soil/Drainage: Plant in rich, well-draining soil. For containers, use a quality potting mix in a planter with adequate drainage holes.
Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions and performs best during summer heat. Protect from frost and freezing temperatures. If overwintering the plant, bring it indoors before temperatures become too cold.
Humidity: Appreciates moderate to high humidity but can adapt to typical outdoor summer conditions and average household humidity when overwintered indoors.
Feeding: Feed regularly during active growth and flowering with a balanced or bloom-supporting fertilizer, following label directions. Container-grown plants generally benefit from more frequent feeding than those planted in the landscape.
Pruning/Support: Trim as needed to maintain a full, attractive shape and remove weak or damaged growth. Its upright habit is relatively manageable, though you can provide light support if stems begin to climb.
Repotting: Repot when the plant becomes rootbound, moving it into a container only slightly larger than its current pot. Always use a container with good drainage.
General Tips: Warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine, good drainage, and regular feeding will encourage the strongest flowering. If overwintered indoors, growth and blooming may slow considerably until warmer, brighter conditions return.
Order & Shipping Info:
-Plants ship in a grower's pot, fully rooted.
-We ship every Monday and Tuesday (excluding holidays) to avoid weekend delays.
-Our photos show what you can expect, but each plant is unique and may look slightly different upon arrival.
-Minor damage during shipping is entirely normal and should be expected, especially in extreme summer or winter temperatures. Don’t worry—damaged foliage can be trimmed away and will not affect the plant's root system or overall health.
-Hold off on watering if the soil is still moist, and wait 2-4 weeks before repotting or fertilizing. This patience will help your plant adjust smoothly without going into shock.
Important:
- Report any order issues the day they arrive by emailing info@magicvalleygardens.com with a photo. After 24 hours, no refunds, returns, or exchanges—no exceptions.
- We guarantee plants arrive alive, but can’t promise long-term success given the nature of plants.
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Many plants recover with proper care, so refunds may not be needed.
