Mandevilla hybrid 'SUN PARASOL® XP Double Pink Blush'

SUN PARASOL® XP Double Pink Blush brings revolutionary genetics and serious flower power to your summer containers. This standout mandevilla features soft blush pink double blooms with slightly deeper pink centers, creating a romantic, layered look against rich green foliage. Each flower measures about 2–3 inches across and appears in abundance thanks to superior branching and nonstop blooming.

With a naturally compact yet trailing habit, this variety grows 1–2 feet tall and spreads 2–3 feet wide, making it perfect for hanging baskets, patio pots, or climbing up a trellis, obelisk, or other vertical support. Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily) and water when the soil dries. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering and feed weekly with a water-soluble fertilizer for best performance. Throughout the season, you’ll enjoy continuous color—plus visits from bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

Mandevilla Houseplant Care: Medium

  • Watering: Water mandevilla 1–2 times a week, increasing to daily during very hot periods. Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Avoid standing water, as it can lead to root rot.
  • Light: Requires at least six hours of sunlight daily. Can tolerate some shade, but bright, indirect light is ideal. Protect from harsh afternoon sun to prevent leaf scorch.
  • Soil/Drainage: Grows best in sandy, well-draining soil with a pH between 6.6 and 7.8. Enhance drainage by mixing in compost or other organic matter.
    Temperature: Prefers warm conditions, ideally 70–90°F (21–32°C) during the day and around 60–65°F (15–18°C) at night. Bring indoors if there’s a risk of frost, as hard freezes are fatal.
  • Humidity: Enjoys high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly or use a humidifier if growing in a dry climate.
  • Fertilizing: Feed in spring with a phosphorus-rich fertilizer. During the blooming season, apply a half-strength liquid fertilizer every two weeks to support flowering.
  • Pruning/Support: Provide a sturdy trellis or support for climbing. Prune to maintain shape and remove dead or weak growth, promoting a healthier, more attractive plant.
  • Pests and Diseases: Watch for spider mites and avoid keeping the soil too wet to prevent fungal diseases. Improve air circulation and maintain proper watering practices to keep the plant healthy.
  • Repotting: Repot when the plant becomes root-bound, choosing a slightly larger pot. Ensure good drainage to encourage strong growth and abundant blooms.
