The Pickle plant is an attractive perennial succulent which has distinctive pencil-shaped stems with soft spines and purple-green patterns. This succulent species has reclining to erect stems, which branch out from its rhizomes stem base.
The purple-green stems are jointed, cylindrical, and jointed. Each stem grows 10” inches tall and roughly 1” inch wide. They have four to six grooves, or angles with scale leaves sprouting all along the ribs.

Light: full sun to part shade
Water: let soil dry complexly between watering (especially in winter months)
Soil: prefers well draining soil (sandy)
Flower: hawkweed-like, large flowers that are often orange or red.
Other: prune back towards the firmer side of the stem during early spring.
