Platycerium bifurcatum (Staghorn Fern)
- Light: Medium light.
- Water: Don't allow the growing medium to dry out completely before watering thoroughly.
Staghorns are one of the most unusual fern varieties. It's often grown on a piece of wood and hung on a wall, where its fronds grow out and look dramatically like antlers. Because it is usually grown in a wad of sphagnum moss, water staghorn ferns by soaking them. The fronds on these plants are of two distinct types-there are sterile fronds at the base and spore-bearing fertile fronds above.
