Philodendron squamiferum (Red Bristle Philodendron)
- Light: Moderate, indirect light.
- Water: Allow top inch of soil to dry out between watering.
Philodendron squamiferum, or Red Bristle Philodendron, displays dark green, split lobe, leathery leaves with fuzzy red petioles. A fast growing vine that needs support to climb. Very tolerant of home conditions.
Philodendron are best grown in fertile, organic, acidic soil that is moist but never waterlogged. Allow the soil to mostly dry out between watering. Prefers bright, indoor light but does not take well to direct sunlight. Protect your plant from frost!
