Columnea gloriosa are commonly known as Goldfish plants and get their name from the red-orange flowers that look like goldfish. These unique plants like extra humidity so consider misting or using a humidifier. Goldfish usually bloom in spring and summer if they are given a drier winter. Don't allow the soil to dry out completely in the winter but get it close. Then water enough in the spring and summer to keep the soil lightly moist at all times. African violet soil mix is recommended.
