The traditional pothos variety is golden pothos. It features heart-shaped mid-green foliage splashed in creamy gold. If you grow this variety up a totem and give it lots of light and warmth, you’ll find the leaves can grow quite large. Pothos enjoy being on the slightly dry side especially after they've been recently repotted. Don't be afraid to give your plant a trim when it starts to get on the leggy side. While pothos produce a toxin it is nonlethal to pets and most of them will learn to avoid playing with it.
